The Bible teaches that, as the home of God's chosen people, Israel is the central location for Biblical prophesy to come to fruition. From the desecration of the Temple to the battle of Armageddon, this small strip of land surrounded by its sworn enemies will be the center of the coming end times, culminating in Jesus return and the founding of a New Jerusalem. I mentioned before I am not so naive to believe America is the center of the world, but the power and influence this country exerts effects the entire planet, and its policies dealing with Israel. I list below just a few actions America has taken especially in the United Nations.
- On September 24, 2009, the president took the unprecedented step of presiding over a meeting of the UN Security Council. This is one month after his request to American rabbi to support his health care reform (see "The Desecration of the Temple"). The purpose of the meeting was to reinforce the restrictions on nuclear proliferation around the world. This in light of reports Iran had begun to develop nuclear weapons and threatened to obliterate Israel. Subsequent actions by the president indicated a reluctance to enact severe penalties upon Iran, even condemning Israel for its promise to defend itself at all cost.
- On April 19, 2010 , Ben Evansky reported:
"The Obama administration is reportedly signaling
another major shift in policy towards one of its staunchest allies, Israel, and
this shift could change the way it votes at the Security Council. The change
would mean an end to the US’ use of its veto power in the United Nations
Security Council when certain anti-Israel resolutions are introduced for a
Reports surfaced a couple of weeks ago, that a
senior US diplomat met with Qatar’s foreign minister in Paris. They discussed
the possibility that the US was giving serious consideration to not using its
veto if a vote on Israeli settlements was to come up. It has been the policy of
successive administrations to veto virtually all anti-Israel resolutions at the
- On May 19, 2011, Mark Landler and Steven Lee Myers reported:
"President Obama, seeking to capture
a moment of epochal change in the Arab world, began a new effort on Thursday to
break the stalemate in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, setting out a new
starting point for negotiations on the region’s most intractable problem.
A day before the arrival in Washington of Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Mr. Obama declared that the prevailing
borders before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war — adjusted to some degree to account
for Israeli settlements in the West Bank — should be the basis of a deal. While
the 1967 borders have long been viewed as the foundation for a peace agreement,
Mr. Obama’s formula of land swaps to compensate for disputed territory created
a new benchmark for a diplomatic solution."
- As of April 2012, 42% of all the resolutions and decisions
critical of the human rights records of specific states ever adopted by the U.N. Human Rights Council have been directed at Israel. The scorecard was 44 resolutions against
Israel and 61 resolutions directed at all of the other 192 UN members combined.
And Council resolutions never even mention “Hamas.”
- The Human Rights Council has a permanent agenda governing
every regular session composed of ten items, one reserved for criticizing
Israel and one for “human rights situations that require the Council’s
attention” anywhere else.
- 192 of 193 UN members meet in five regional
groups before the Council’s public sessions to strategize and share information
– Israel is the only UN state excluded. (note: John's Revelation prophesy includes a "ten" nation alliance, halfway there...)
- The Council has commissioned thirty reports
condemning Israel alone. That’s compared to five specific reports on Syria’s executioners,
three on Iran’s genocidal regime, and none on Council members like Saudi Arabia
– which tyrannizes its entire female population, or China – which denies more
than a billion people elementary freedoms. The reports damning Israel all follow the same
pattern. Israel’s actions to defend itself combating rocket attacks from
Gaza, preventing a Gaza port for Iranian arms, establishing checkpoints to deny
terrorists a way in to Israel, targeting the rocket launchers and terrorist
masterminds – all become violations of Palestinian rights. Israel is the villain and Palestinians are the victims from
And the list goes on.
Recently, Israeli air strikes in neighboring Syria on a reported weapons convoy drew threats of retaliation from Syria, Lebanon, and Iran. Russia also issued a statement noting "grave concerns" over the attacks. Government discord in neighboring Egypt has destabilized the southern security of Israel. The Muslim Brotherhood led regime has often stated their intent to wipe Israel off the map...and America is supplying the money and arms to do so. These events are nearly identical to the rhetoric leading up to the Six Day War in 1967 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six-Day_War). A sidenote: many Muslims believe the end times will include the death of the one they believe to be the slaughterer of their people. Many believe that person to be Ariel Sharon, former Israeli Prime Minister and one of the commanders of Israeli forces since its inception in 1948. Sharon has been in a coma since 2006 after suffering a second stroke. His condition dramatically worsened shortly thereafter including blood infections, pneumonia, and a heart infection. In 2010, a hospital manager involved in Sharon's care said that he had no chance of recovery, adding that the instinct was to "provide hope and say that because he is alive there is a chance he will wake up, but this is never going to happen." The doctor stated that his brain was "the size of a grapefruit", and that "the part of the brain that keeps his body functioning, his vital organs, is intact, but beyond that, there is nothing, just fluid". In spite of these setbacks, Sharon still lives, even to the point that in January 2013 tests showed "significant brain activity" but no signs of awareness. Why has God kept him alive?
America began its abandonment of Israel in 2009, gradually allowing anti-Israel sentiment to permeate world affairs to such a degree that Israel is surrounded by enemies with no significant outside support in sight. 2009, the stage was set for The Beginning. The president now plans a visit to Israel in early March... 3113.
